The pharmacy and drug store has been a fundamental business in Meeker since 1904, only a few years after its founding. Meeker has had many drug stores in various places in town. Below you will see the first few pharmacies that Meeker had as well as the drug store that is currently in town.
Founding:
The earliest known recording of a drug store in Meeker is 1904. This was Strehlke Bros. Drug Store. This business was housed on the ground floor of the east wing of the Meeker hotel. This now holds the Meeker Cafe. Along with the drug store, the ground floor had a doctor's office, and telephone company. The first pharmacist for Strehlke Bros. was Charles H. Crockett. The owner of the business and property was owned b Oscar E. Shehorn. Strehlke Bros. was a big company that had several stores throughout Colorado. Another very early account of a drug store was in 1925. This was located in what is now called Prescription's hair salon. This was known as Robertson's Pharmacy. There continued to be various different drug stores in there until the mid 2010's when the current drug store moved across the street and it was turned into a hair salon.
Until Recently:
Until May of 2022 the Meeker Drug Store was housed in a building on the corner of Main and 6th Street. The store has since been converted into Meeker's Sweet Shop and is housed in the same building.
Above are photo's of the modern day drug store as of 2019.

In May of 2022 the pharmacy in Meeker was moved from the drug store on 6th St to its own new space in Pioneers Medical Center on Highway 13. The hospital built a completely new space for the pharmacy which includes a walk up window. Though the pharmacy is fairly new, it has already shown to be a big and essential part of the Meeker Community.
