Rio Blanco County Historical Society preserves the rich heritage of the White River Valley by capturing oral history and maintaining the White River Museum's collection of artifacts from local pioneer families, government, industry, military and Ute Indian history.

The Historical Society continues fund-raising projects to support the White River Museum,
historic sites such as the Milk Creek Battlefield Park and Coal Creek Rural School, and Heritage Tourism.
