The Post Office

The post office is a very necessary business in Meeker, as it helps the people in the small town get what they need especially in modern times with online shopping . The post office has been around since almost the founding of the town, and has moved from various buildings across town. Today the business is housed on 6th street, and is a fundamental part of the town.
Founding and History:
After the town was done fighting the Native Americans and was established as a town, they had left over military barracks. One of these buildings was turned into the Meeker Post Office. Eventually the Post Office moved from the Barracks, into a little stone building in the middle of town. This move was made in 1891. It was housed in the Vorges Building. This building now houses the Meeker Cafe. The post office stayed in this building until 1904 when it was then turned into the first national bank. The business has moved through many different buildings,  some of which not documented, finally ending up in a building on 6th Street.

Today:
Today the Post Office is one of the most essential businesses in Meeker. It is currently located in a building on 6th street. This business has been greatly appreciated and needed since it's founding, continuing on today. It helps connect the residents of the town to the outside world and allows them to get what they need, quick and easy. Take a look inside the Meeker Post Office here!
